Hi guys and gals. I want to make sure it this is not a counterfeit Blu-ray. Because Columbia/Sony and Disney are usually the only common studios to use Vortex-like cases. Those have a Blu-ray logo engrossed on the case. Elite-like just have a Blu-ray logo that is not engrossed on the case.
All the rest of the major studios uses Elite-like cases. This one came in a Elite-like case, and it was from Sony. I got it from Amazon, and it was sealed. Can you make sure if I have a legit or a counterfeit Blu-ray? |

It’s not common but I have seen Sony titles in store in Viva Elites, even alongside other copies of the same title in Vortex cases. If you bought direct from Amazon, if the cover art doesn’t look shoddy and it’s a proper pressed disc, I wouldn’t worry about it being fake based on the case it came in.

It's actually a little bigger than normal Elite case.
I apologize if it is hard to see, the sun is going down. |

If the disc is any color other than a reflective mirror finish it's a bootleg. If the bottom looks like every other Blu Ray you own it's official. If you bought it directly from Amazon it's official. If you bought it from a 3rd party in theory it could be a bootleg but likely isn't.

Update (8/1/2018):
So I realized that The 5th Wave and Jack and Jill were both from the seller Bridge Media on Amazon. It explains why they both came in these cases. And also didn't came with the UltraViolet code that Amazon said. ![]() Also sorry for the long wait. |

Most third-party Amazon sellers are fine. And who would bother to bootleg those two movies?
OP: Is there some reason you couldn't be forthcoming with what movies you were talking about? You're the one asking for help, but also being obtuse. Embarrassed you have such shit taste in movies? |

Looks like you purchased a couple of second-hand used items but I wouldn't worry about them being bootlegs based on the case they came in. |
