Need advice

So, this was the only place I could think to post. Sorry if this doesn't belong here. I recently bought a Vizio VSB200 sound bar (I'm a college student in a rental so I can't run wires through the wall or a lot of other things to make a decent surround sound system so I chose this) anyway I have a huge Phillips plasma tv and I can't quite put the sound bar in front of the tv since the speaker is large enough to block the remote.

Does anyone have any ideas or know off hand of a cheap tv stand I can get to put this speaker in a better location. Or anything else that might help. Thanks a lot in advance guys.
