Welcome my friend! You have a wonderful setup, and I know the Esoteric gear very well, and to hear that your player out performs it by so much really makes me wish I could hear it! It must be amazing, and so detailed! I will be sure to make it a point to audition one when I can. Take care, and have a great weekend! D.

Brent, you'll definitely be kicked out by your condo association.

Haha!!! What else do I need? Even with the Titan, I'll still get an integrated tube amp down the road though....

BTW, I am anxiously awaiting the A-B blind test results of the AVR600 vs the Av888 from AVforums from a processing stand point. This should be interesteing

And on that note: we have managed to HI-JAck yet another thread!!!

I would have loved to see how you got that Moon amp on that rack.

LOL, doesn't appear to be much wiggle room.

Your equipment is incredible (especially those speakers......Dali's!!.) I can't take my eyes off of the Classe and that Moon Titan monster amp either. That is one set-up that maintains the past while incorporating the future. The power and beauty you have there is a perfect blend....every thing is top notch...great job!

I can only imagine the heat that the amp puts off. And we have people b!tch!ng about the heat a plasma may put off. Probably a small space heater in the winter.

I've been meaning to ask you this for some time, but always slips my mind ..................

What version of 6H30's are you using in your CDP ??? My CDP uses 6H30's & I'm currently using an older pair of Reflektor 6H30-DR's. Balanced Audio Technology uses them as well in some of their designs & they call them "Super Tubes". My CDP came stock with a pair of Sovtek's. I haven't tried the Electro Harmonix 6H30 Pi gold pins yet.

If you are interested in a good & honest source for NOS 6H30-DR's !!! They should have matched pairs left for sale if you are interested !!! Just ask about it. They often have sales too, so if you wait a couple of weeks or less, you can save even more on a pair.

mdabb,
Thanks for the link. I stayed with the stock tube. Don't even remember the version. I did try some vintage 6H30-DR. Didn't like the "DR" so much because, although it seemed lush sounding, it did not quite possess the top extension that I prefer.I might give it another go someday again though but I'm quite happy with my 2ch now.

It's just that this is a tough hobby. I have to learn to enjoy what I have instead of reaching for something unattainable. There, I said it...!

I did get a chance to compare the Classe' preamp section with my Placette. I must say, I'd forgotten how great the Placette sounds since I have my sources connected to the Classe' the past few days. The Classe' is good, better in 2ch than all the HT processors I've owned/listened to but the Placette is at least a notch or 2 better. This from a sub $2K pre. It's now bettered 3 preamps costing 3-4x more in my system.
I guess it's stayin' in my rack.

It does get hot but it only gets real bad for about 2 weeks in the summer.
Makes my apt nice and cozy in the winter time.

Wasn't as hard as it looks. Definitely a 2 man operation.
