This "part" set has as many episodes as the "season" sets so I suppose there's no need to wait to complete our collection.
So I don't know if they'll release a "season" set because of that. If they do, it's gonna be bulkier that the previous "season" sets so people caring about that should probably get the current "part" set so that it matches the previous "season" sets. What do you think? |

It will be a little thicker, but if they use the right case, it will be thinner than the three parts combined. I'm more concerned about the overall space taken up, than I am if the cases are the same thickness.

I really hate inconsistency on the shelf. If Funi does release all of The Final Chapters in one season set that is thicker than the previous four its going to seriously bug me every time I look at it. It also wont work to pick up these new Parts because the spines will differ from the season sets. It seems the only way to maintain consistency for the entirety of Kai is to have the original Part 1-8 sets.

Yeah, I'm sure these parts will be fine as far as the thickness of the spine is concerned, its just that the spines on these parts wont look the same as the four season sets I already have.

Regardless, it help a little if you think of these new sets as separate from the old sets. It's called "The Final Chapters" after all, and its subtitle is gonna stick out in the artwork and the spine.
Considering Japan never planned to go past the Cell arc with Kai until just recently, I think the "inconsistency" kinda gels with its existence. The thing I'm more concerned about than artwork inconsistency is aspect ratio inconsistency. Will these sets be formatted in widescreen as originally broadcast in Toonami? |

I suppose thats one way to justify any artwork inconsistency, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how they release the rest of the show.
Considering Funimation's track record with DBZ's aspect ratio, I think it could go either way. I definitely wouldn't put it past them release these sets in 16:9. |

I never ended up watching all of Buu Kai when it first aired.. I left it somewhere in the middle, I can't even remember really. It wasn't as fast paced as the first lot, and the music wasn't really my bag.
I'm definitely getting these sets though, as I think watching it in English will give me more interest in it, as I would have something to compare it to performance wise... plus I buy pretty much anything DB related lol |

Buu Kai Toei did it in house, Kai1.0 was the one that was done by a different company. Hence why Buu Kai is significantly worse.
