Hi- Does anyone have any experience in importing games to the U.S. via Play-Asia? I was giving serious thought to importing the Biohazard Revival Selection disc that comes out soon, but was worried about getting nailed with some high custom fees.
Has anyone here in the U.S. ordered an import from them? How was the experience? Should I be concerned about custom fees on top of the cost of the game itself? I appreciate any thoughts anyone might have. Thanks! |

As far as additional custom fees, I think you only have to worry about that when your package is valued over $200?
I've had no problems here either, but my bank (Bank of America, jackasses) charges me an "International Transaction Fee" every time I order from them. ![]() |

Yep, debit card here too. It's a separate fee that add to the account usually later that day. It's not much though, when I bought a Japanese PSN card from play-asia for like $16 I was changed an additional $0.48.

I've ordered l literally ots of games from Play-Asia since I like a lot of Japanese games that will never see the light of day in America for being either too niche or just being a visual novel type game, and I never once got any custom fees. I guess some cards may have a custom fee.
Basically you just pay for the game and the shipping, and that's it. Shipping costs I believe depend on the weight, but if you're just buying a PS3 game, you can even have it sent in bubble-wrap packaging from your postal service which is really cheap but a little longer wait. Each time you order, they give you like a $5 off coupon for your next purchase. |
