Default New members count - after the WB rumor?

I was looking at the member list, trying to query by date created/added, but it would only query by number of posts. It would be nice to query "Member since" so i could see how much publicity we gained from a members perspective.

I'm one, but unfortunately it's not all good news, I joined to point out how foolish anyone was who'd listen to a big story like that from a newbie. It smacks of clutching at straws, and as you lot seem to be under the impression you are winning anyway, I can't see why that should be.

It's not so much that we are "winning", truthfully anybody who is enjoying their home theater experience, albeit with blu-ray or hd dvd, is winning in their own way. The blu-ray technology is just a better technology, all the way around.

How is blu-ray not winning, I have both formats and am neutral but when Nielsons shows sales figures this is the only real truth. And its pretty obvious based off nielsons who is winning.

Did I say you were not? I do think it's not a good thing, tech may be superior, player quality, everything except the poor goddam consumer and their rights. But ATM you are ahead, and unless Mr Gates does some more bribery and corruption, that's how it will stay, and Mr Sony and his dirty friends will tell us all what we can watch and when. (dirty friends being the yank thought police, B.A.C's)

I never said anything bad. I just want everybody to be happy with their home theater's. If that means HD DVD for them, more power to 'em.

BILL does not run HD-DVD... Micro$oft is more concerned about Digital Downloads, that is where their money is made in movies.
No, M$ can throw all the money they have at it and it still won't matter. Look at the zune.. oh wait.. you can't cause no one has any! I swear I see more people on the train with portable CD players than zunes... and ipods and iphones are everywhere. M$ has tried to destroy the competition too many times and now it is fighting back!

No, Sony is not in charge of BD either. It is the BDA with Sony as the poster boy, but the fact that the BDA is much larger than the HD-DVD supporters shows that the industry already recognizes the better quality and sales of the Blu-ray.
Interactive movies is a mistake, it has been tried before and WB's sales figures can show you how it is still not working. 300 has loads more extras and interactive features on the HD-DVD, and yet the Blu-ray is selling better.. still.
I for one do not buy movies for the extras on it, I buy it for the movie. It is nice when it has extras that I enjoy, but I usually look at them once, maybe twice, and then never again. The movie I will watch again and again and show my family and friends, etc.
Besides, before the and of the year, BD will have its interactivity out there.

Spreading rumors like this than saying "anyone who falls for it" is just stupid. Few people believed it would happen to begin with cause it was too far fetched, and we already know WB announced they will make no choice until after 4Q, so they can look at the sales.

The poor man ddid not have the ability to own HDTVs 2 or 3 years ago, and many still don't, but the price is dropping and soon it will be the standard format. Same with HD discs... instead of building cheaper and inferior players, BD has built better and higher quality players that may cost more now, but will drop fast as well. Price is NOT the concern anymore. HDTVs are too expensive for the average consumer anyways so why would they care about the price of BD or HD-DVD? Until the price of the HDTV is less, it won't matter at all.

I joined today as well. I've been reading the forums here for a while though, but I was just too bone idle to bother with joining until now.

Have to admit that I own both formats, but I have more of a soft spot in my heart for the Blu side of things.

Not to mention the price of upconversion players is getting cheaper as well. Most people think that if they get a $100 Upconversion Player they are going to save money, and they can watch movies in 1080.
