How quickly does Amazon usually ship their new releases? Do you get charged on a pre-order when you place the pre-order or on the date the movie is officially released?

I have amazon prime and usually recieve new releases on release day. YMMV. Amazon doesn't charge your credit card until they ship your preorder.

I use the free shipping and usually have the title by Thursday. Friday happened once.

I tend to not care about 1 or 2 extra days. I batch up my order so I get 3 or 4 discs at a time. That keeps me busy until the next weeks releases arrive.

I think it depends on the shipping.

I've been on Prime for about 3 months, and the free 2 day shipping has always come UPS (tracking number included).

Also, I must have a shipping center close to me, because almost all of my 2-day shipments have arrived the very next day, once it took two days, and only did my PSP Slim came from farther away (halfway across the country), I could tell from the tracking number, and they still delivered it on the second day.
