I have a Panasonic G10 plasma TV, and I want to connect my Macbook Pro to it so I can watch Hulu on a bigger screen. What cables do I need? I remember there was a site for low cost HDMI cables, but I don't know what it was. Can anybody help me out with this?

Not sure what version you have, but mine has a thunderbolt port (and this device should work just fine with earlier versions as well), but get this: http://www.techlink.uk.com/products/...o_hdmi_adapter
You will also have to get an HDMI cable for it. They sell for super cheap on Amazon. I bought the cheap 4 dollar ones, and they work just fine. |

Here is the HDMI cable. They work fantastic and are super cheap. No point in spending 60 bones for a posh one. Just make sure that it will be long enough. That one there is 6 feet I believe.

I wasn't able to find a ton of stuff on the 8,1 model, but I am pretty certain that it's from late 2010 or early 2011, in which case the setup suggested by Hofftimus Prime will work for getting the video to your HDTV. That will work quite well actually, as the graphics cards in these MBPs have plenty of horsepower to display on a big screen.
You would still need to get sound from the MBP to the TV, if you were wanting to do that, that is. A simple 3.5mm male to [whatever your TV supports] cable will work for that. One of my HDTVs requires a 3.5mm male plug, while the other needs RCA (red/white), so just make sure you know what your TV needs. |
