The Baseline is the centre of the East London grime club scene and the queue regularly stretches around the block. Danny works on the door - breaking up fights and managing drunk kids. However, when he rescues Terry, the club owner and local gang leader, from a hitman, Danny is suddenly plunged deep into an underworld he had tried so hard to avoid. Danny is promoted to manager, but only on the condition that he turns a blind eye to the shady goings on both on and off the dance-floor. Danny and his girlfriend Jessica dream of setting up their own club, but Danny is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice when he has to choose between loyalty, morality and his own dreams of escape.
After just watching this movie I must say it was pretty good! The 3D was very good on this one, great depth on outdoor scenes and inside buildings. But the thing that impressed me was close up shots of peoples faces looked amazing in 3D. I enjoyed this movie much and give it a 8/10 for 3D, a must see! ![]() |

Wow - this is pretty surprising! This film was not a native 3D production was it? (Nothing I've read seems to indicate that it was)... If it is a conversion, then it is pretty well done? I figured it would be along the lines of what I've come across so far from the "German conversions" referenced here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/4996773-post46.html Lighthouse entertainment (who released Baseline 3D) also put out Looser aka The Grand 3D -and I felt the 3D in that was very poorly converted. I've been hoping that the quality of these conversions would improve - It sounds like they have...? Last edited by hotandserious; 09-07-2011 at 02:54 PM. |

Well, shucks - Here's a review translated from German that is not too keen on the 3D conversion (a bit hard to understand - thanks to Google translate):
http://translate.google.com/translat...-3d%2F&act=url But Bravia, you'd say it is better than they are giving it credit for? This site also has a guide to 3D conversions on Blu-Ray 3D here: http://translate.google.com/translat...cht%2F&act=url It could be useful but this list is filled with misinformation!!! I noticed quite a few that they are listing as: * Subsequently converted (!) = Films that were not even in the Produktionspahse meant for 3D, was released by that label but as a 3D version (with usually sufficient to inferior results). - and they are wrong. The list includes lots of IMAX films that are absolutely native 3D films. Bugs! Rainforest Adventure Fascination coral reef IMAX: Deep Sea IMAX: Dolphins and Whales IMAX: Ultimate Wave Tahiti etc etc etc Last edited by hotandserious; 09-07-2011 at 04:34 PM. |

In my opinion the 3D was pretty good on my Sony LX900. Scenes had good depth. I do remember one scene though were a girl is sitting and she has pink text on her shirt kinda far away but the text looked like it was floating on her body. That is the only scene I noticed that was bad. I thought the rest was pretty good.
