Not sure where to place this but just purchased a used Bostan Legal: The Complete Series UK DVD set
![]() Other than all discs seeming to be single layer. I noticed on Season 1 Disc 1. Episode 3 & 4 are really low quality and blocky compared to the other episodes. On investigating the disc on my computer I noticed that these two episodes have been mastered at half the file size (550mb) compared to the other two episodes at 1gb each. Hence the low and poor quality of these two episodes. Seems like a mastering error from the factory. Just wondering if anybody else has noticed this and if it was fixed in later releases? If all the discs are single layer it rings alarm bells you have almost certainly bought a bootleg.
Big show boxsets like this almost always use dual layer to reduce the disc count. Very poor quality is another give away as the bootleggers massively compress the episodes to get more on a disc. |

Here is a scan of 2 DVDs. Maybe someone who owns this set can compare them to what they have and let me know. They show up as region free. Also just has DVD logo and Boston S1-1 S4-3 etc printed on the inner ring. The mastering date is after the official release date ... I would assume that the discs would be mastered to the same date as the separate releases, they have the same number of discs and the first three seasons are listed as DVD9s.

Art for Season 4 only used the same picture (tie) from disc 1 for all discs instead of different ties. Non of the discs have disc 1, disc 2 etc printed on any of them. Instead opting for a small yellow circle and a black number to indicate the disc number. |
