Default Cliff Twemlow's The Eye of Satan & GBH

I am shocked that Severin Films somehow, some way, managed to rescue the rights to both GBH and The Eye of Satan. I have only seen GBH myself, but if Eye of Satan is as good? I'm in for a hell of a time.

The reason that I thought this would NEVER see the light of day was that, as far as I knew, to raise money for the production, Cliff Twemlow went around Manchester selling the rights to the movie. The legal gordian knot, or so I thought, would have been impossible to untangle. But here we are.

To give you an idea about how low budget GBH (and presumably Eye of Satan) was, when they needed to shoot a scene in a night club, they would show up one day with the full crew and tell the bartender "I talked to the manager a couple of days ago. He said it was alright if we shot here."

If the bartender said "I'm the manager, and I have no idea what you are talking about", Cliff would say "Sorry, I must have the wrong address", but if the barkeep just shrugged, they would shoot what they needed! The ultimate in guerrilla shooting. For the car chase? They just set up, blocked off the street and got the scene in the can before the cops arrived.

Yeah, seriously. This is very much a What If sort of movie, where a Cannon Films Group era Charles Bronson decided he was going to make a James Bond movie. He gets all the women, he kicks ass in fist fights, he drives fast cars, gets into gun fights - oh, and did I mention this is an "autobiographical" account of Cliff Twemlow's life as a bouncer.

No, seriously - check these things out:

EDIT: Now a trailer!
