Default Painting my room for my Epson 705hd

Ok, I wasn't sure where exactly to put this so I'll try here in the actual projectors forum. I'm in a 21 x 12 rectangular room projecting an epson 705hd onto a HD Do-Able board (surrounded by black Velvet) but all my walls are satin white at the moment. I really wanted to repaint the room and it's about time we repainted the interior of the house anyways.... I know darker is better and matte being recommended. should I use Flat paint or use Eggshell ?? I know flat would probably be the least reflective of the paints but Flat has that wonderful problem of everything sticking to it and being VERY unwashable.

I know that black would be of course the perfect choice but unfortunately I doubt that will fly with the Mrs. Any other colors that forum members use that would be more wife acceptable yet still be dark enough to do the job??? I was thinking of Behr's "Dark Cavern" which is a dark grey (shown below)

any suggestions on styles of paint, colors etc??
