Guess which one belongs to Blu-ray exclusive studio Buena Vista (Disney) and which is Paramount (the payola taking snake).

Not that Game Plan interests me in the slightest, but box office translates into rentals translates into disc sales. Parawho?
Kingdom is actually Universal, but same thing essentially

Thumbs down

I found the Kingdom very slow moving for 80% of the movie. Some great acting was wasted, trying to play the politically correct card. As always, they try to show that there are two sides to every story, but they fail to also show right from wrong in doing so. I was disappointed after all of the hype.

Now I haven't seen either film, yet, though I'll be checking out The Kingdom later this week.

I know we're all supposed to root for films by Blu-ray studios, etc, but COME ON! Game Plan looks so bad, it's unreal. The Kingdom reviews have been decidedly mixed, but at least give them credit for being more original than the Disney Channel original movie... er, feature film Game Plan.

I don't think the trailers for Game Plan have looked good either, but I heard the producer on the radio the other day and found out he is the one who produced The Rookie, Miracle, and Invincible. So he's got a good track record with me and I'll probably give this a chance down the line whereas I wouldn't have given it a second look otherwise.

I saw The Kingdom last night and I thought is was awesome. I don't get why people are hating on this movie. I had only 2 negatives which are the camera work was a bit frantic at times and the middle of the movie dragged a bit, but the intense action scene towards the end was amazing and it had the audience I was in cheering. As far as political correctness goes I felt it was harmless. It shows Muslims and extremist Muslims, but I don't feel that it held back anything from showing that the bad guys are the bad guys. It had some humor and some great acting...I don't see why people don't like this film. I wish this was exclusive over Game Plan...I'm not ever going to watch that.

Personally, I would rather get The Kingdom than Gameplan in HD (always had a soft spot for Peter Berg-films).
But... I guess that decision is not up to me.

Well Garner isn't quite trying to look her best here, but she's still great. It reminded of Clear and Present Danger in the trailer so I was hyped for this from the beginning. I guess some people didn't like it because they felt it was too "Hollywood", but I thought it was entertaining and had some intense sequences. It's worth watching and it's definitely better than Game Plan...although I haven't seen that.
