Default New Panny 1080p & HDMI 1.3

Well, for those that are interested, I just added one more Panasonic Plasma to my collection of tv's. I got the latest Panny offering TH-50PZ77U 1080p. They now have the anti glare screen like Pioneer is doing which makes it look dark in the store, but it was fine when I hooked it up at home.

Anywho, I just wanted to pass along a few things I discovered today with the new toys. One is the new Panny plasmas now have the "energy star" logo on the front of the tv. I have never seen that on a plasma before (knowing that plasmas burn more power and create more heat than LCD's) and it does run cooler. The screen and heat vents on back put out very little compared to my other plasmas. My 3 other plasmas are all early 2007 models, so I wonder if this is a new change coming for plasmas (energy star).

The real point I wanted to make though is that I switched my new Panny and one of the other 1080p's to Monster ultra 1000 cables today and it actually made a difference in the pic. Also using my PS3 with the HDMI 1.3 on the 1080p really stood out over my Sony BDP-S300 (1.1 HDMI I think) with Panny 1080p. Even my digital cable colors were "stronger" with the Ultra 1000 cable without a 1.3 source. I have never been one to believe the hype of high $ cables (even though I tend to buy them), but today I really saw a difference. I really took the time to compare and was very surprised. Thoughts ??
