Default Safe or Get the Gringo?

Which is the better action flick?

I usually go to Best Buy on Tuesdays to pickup some flicks.
Both films are $7.99 each.

Looking to get one action flick, which one of the two should I get?

Both are pretty fun flicks but I'd say Gringo has more value in future viewings.

I'm gonna say Get the Gringo.
Haven't seen it, but it got better reviews. Plus, I feel like I've seen Safe fifteen times as different movies. Gringo's got a slightly more original story if you're into that stuff.

Both are good movies but Safe has more action in it.

Gringo could have used a few more action scenes or at least "longer" ones

People compare Gringo to Gibson's "Payback" which is action heavy.

Safe has alot of shootouts and chases, sound is excellent and so is the picture, they story is medicore.

As others have posted,Gringo has a better story.

I actually Watched GET THE GRINGO last night(I rented it). I liked it, it felt like a sequel to PAYBACK, which is a good thing. The directing was kind of flashy at times IMO, unnecessary for grittiness the movie was going for. But Mel rocked and if you must blind buy, you could do a lot worse.

I agree with the other guy about SAFE, I have not seen it because it seemed like I'd seen it already.

I say go with Get the Gringo. I loved it. A little gritty, good action, not over the top and some of that dark humor. Safe is just the same old Jason Stathum film. Its good, but I dont see alot of repeat view value in it.

I would personally go with Safe.

I wasn't a big fan of GTG.

I liked Safe a lot. Probably the best movie Jason Statham has been in (besides The Expendables films) in a while. Thought it was much better than The Mechanic and Killer Elite.

Haven't seen Get the Gringo yet though, but I've got in coming from Amazon. Can't wait to watch it!

I got both of these on BF. Safe was a blind buy and I liked it. Storywise, Gringo is better. Action wise, Safe is better. Both have great audio/video, with Safe probably having a slight edge. All in all, I'd say both, but if you must only get one, get Get the Gringo.

Safe is prime Statham all the way. I'd put it in his top tier from his filmography. I liked the way the story took it's time getting together and then it's just chaos to the end. Unlike a few above, I think it has great replay value too. Haven't seen Gringo yet.

I really like Statham but he has done better work. I prefer any of the Transporter series or Bank Job over Safe, which for me was just OK for a single view.
