I might have to get this for the (ridiculous) '15' certificate it will carry, since it makes the film look far naughtier than it really is. I mean, the scene
[Show spoiler] is a bit naughty, but I don't think it's '15' strong, and neither is the [Show spoiler] reference, both of which appear to be the main justifications for upping the cert to '15'. Certainly one of the more bewildering BBFC classifications of the past several years (in my opinion), and I think the film works better as a strong '12A' rather than a very weak '15'.Unless of course, this is a different version to the US PG-13 version, but that doesn't seem to be the case... |

For example, the Kevin Smith film Zack and Miri Make a Porno by the BBFC's own admission contains nothing that couldn't be passed at a 15, but the sheer frequency and context of sex references in question meant it couldn't be passed at a 15. Another example of this would be Easy A, which contains 12 level sex references, but they're so frequent it got pushed up to a 15. Episodes of Girls (s1e2 Vagina Panic) and New Girl (s1e8 Bad in Bed, s1e14 Bully, s2e23 Virgins) have also been pushed up because of frequency and context. The MPAA don't really take into account frequency and context (except on the f word for some reason), so it's less of an issue in the US... Last edited by Buzz201; 12-20-2014 at 08:24 AM. |

Make no mistake, it's a hard 12A, but I really think, in the context of a the characters being morons, the edgier moments are less offensive than if they involved the "non-dumb" characters. |
