Post Who has Elf on Blu-ray?

I'm thinking about buying Elf on Blu-ray from Amazon. Worth buying, or should I wait? Thanks!

I had ELf on regular DVD and purchased it on Blu ray and there is a tremodous improvement in picture quality. This is a christmas favourite in our family and if you appreciate the improvement Blu ray brings to video, you best get out and buy it.

The transfer could definitely be improved. Heavy DNR is apparent, but for fans I would recommend it.

"I love singing, singing's my favorite"

I haven't gotten Elf on BD yet, but I definitely will before next Christmas. Anyone have the first two Home Alone movies? How do they look?

Would you not semi-agree that for a movie like this, (the amount of) DNR isn't all that critical? I mean it's not like we're watching some super-awesome action flick or something. It's pretty pedestrian as far as what it has to offer from a visual stimulation point of view. It's just a good movie.

Can't be much wrong with it...
I mean, I rented the DVD-version only some months ago and it was excellent overall.
The image was already great on DVD except you could of course see some blurry/soft edges
when using a bigger screen or projection.
But the colors were great and the whole look of it was just really nice.
At least, if you set your equipment a bit right.
It's actually one of the DVDs I kind of calibrated my projector and DVD-player with.
I doubt, if this is a whole new HD-transfer, that it could be less than acceptable for a movie like this.
