Default Some really good comparisons between Blu-ray & HDDVD right here

Hi,

Here are a few very good pic comparisons of Blu-ray & HDDVD.

( Just hold down your mouse cursor over the Blu-ray Pic, and you will see the HDDVD Version. )

If you look closely, you can see that the Blu-ray Version is better.
The HDDVD Pics always have a little red tinge...

Here is the main page, where you have access to all Pic´s...

I almost couldn't see it. Not the best picture for such a comparison. But I agree, the newspaper seems whiter under blu-ray than it does under HD-DVD.

This isn't one of those deals where after about 20 seconds a scary ass pic comes up accompanied by horrifying screams is it?

you could tell a difference. the shade in some of the scenes makes it hard to see clearly, but you see it on BD.

Is this not the same video encoding on both formats? It should look the same.. if there is a difference it may be something via the player.

You can really see the difference if you look at the Mission Impossible III shot.

Look how much sharper all the building in the foreground is - the VC-1 has removed all the grain, terrible.

I could def. see the color diff. on FOOF. Although I have no idea which is more correct.

Haven't looked at all of it yet but the best ones I've seen so far are MI3 and WTC. I assume the diff. in detail on these is due to codecs. and not bit rate.

The Prestige is pretty much identical.

Thanks for the link.

The most noticeable one for me was MI:3
The HD DVD version looks much softer, look at the guys walking down the stairs as you mouse over.

In the second comparison, on the right, there is a crowd of people in the stands. The Blu version looks a little more distinct.

I can see alot, blu-ray is much sharper on every pict, the one that blow up 200% you could see the HD-DVD black has no details at all, you guys should set you monitor on the highgest resolution of your graphic card in order to see the differences.
