Default Before E3

Before E3 of this year, I read an article that talked about the Wii. The article mentioned a mystery spot on the back of the console. This mystery spot looked like a cable of some sort went into the back. The hole was only about a inch in size and it was thought that the Wii might accpet a cable from the Gamecube. I think this was mentioned when the Wii was still in TGS form. I was just wondering if it was revealed what the mystery spot was.

I haven't heard anything about this mystery spot. Let me know if you find out anything about it. Are you sure it's not an optical cable input for audio?

It might be for audio. I think that the point was that if it's for audio then you can use the same cable that you used for the Gamecube. It's not for the senor bar. To compare sizes, it was about the same size as the power supply cord for the new ps2 console.

There is no cable that small on the Gamecube, so I don't see how it would be able to use any Gamecube cables in a space that small. My guess is still an optical port. If you can find a picture I can tell you whether or not it's an optical port.

It's possble that Nintendo scraped the idea.
