No offense, but why is Big Bird singing Kermit's song?

It was more so Henson's best song he sang, and Big Bird was paying tribute, did you hear at the end he said "Thank you Kermit"? Alot of the group called Henson "Kermit".

Now--to underscore the point of "Tasteless"--let's really remember Jim by running the latest final trailer to said new movie:

...THAT'S why I'm not seeing it.

i cant believe sarah silverman is in it..... just doesn't give off the right attitude for being in a muppet movie imo unless this was a different type of muppet movie -_-

Will, that's it actually. Henson voiced Kermit. Henson WAS Kermit. It's a somber enough song. And I can't think of a more appropriate song. Would you prefer 'I hope that somethin' better comes along' or 'Rainbow connection?'

Fit the mood perfectly, I thought. A good tribute...

...You tell ME which cared more about Henson's work.

I brought this up yesterday on Facebook; Jim Henson's Studio created the Beast of Gevaudan for Le Pacte Des Loups. So, when I think of Jim Henson, I think of Big Bird, Kermit, and the Beast of Gevaudan!

I don't see why you even posted that video in here in the first place...

I remember these Baker segments on Sesame Street fondly when I was kid. On "Baker 3":Jim Henson appears juggling, as does his son Brian (with the 3 peas), the voice of the clumsy baker, and directed it to boot!

and a complilation all the bakers falls!

Henson started out wanting to be an "experimental" film-student director, and did a lot of the early '69 "old-school" Sesame Street films:

Maybe a few of the older grads here remember

As had been alluded to (but not said), Henson was Kermit, always, prior to his death. At this time Kermit had no voice, thus he wouldn't sing the song. I think it's a perfectly considered song, and I think Big Bird is a perfectly comforting "person" to have sung it.

This still makes me cry:

I don't have any ill feelings towards the new Muppet movie. I do believe that Jason Segal made it because he loves the Muppets.

We do, however, question his "love" that he felt compelled to personally appear in EVERY SINGLE SCENE with them.
(He certainly "loves" somebody, but think he needs to get a clearer idea of who.)

In fact, watching the previous last trailer, Segel running around and mugging alongside the characters looked uncannily like he was doing some Billy Crystal act of greenscreening himself into old real Muppet movie clips--Apply that to his reason for making this movie accordingly.

They made a new puppets movie without James Henson? That is just wrong! Bet the movie is going to bomb and they should stop making puppet movies

Jim Henson was a genius. I love The Muppets and I was obsessed with Fraggle Rock when I was a little kid. I also watched The Dark Crystal a lot when I was younger. Can't wait for the new movie!
