Default DVD section

I just realized that you have a DVD section that contains deals, etc. just like with blu rays and that you can add DVDs to your collection, etc. The dvd section doesn't seem like its easy to get to (Basically i had to go to my collection, click on 'my dvds' and then there was a link.

Is this a new addition to the site? Because i also noticed that the some title weren't available. For example, i recently purchased the Paul Newman: Tribute Set dvd set and couldn't find that available to add to my collection. Is there a way for users to add titles that they cannot find?

Yes, there is currently a "hidden" DVD section in beta mode, the idea/purpose is to allow collectors to not only collect BDs on the site, but also to keep their DVD collection so they can have their complete disc collection in the same place. The DVD section/collection should be more or less fully functional and you can add new DVDs yourself by going to any DVD entry and click "Add movie". You can also go to the corresponding theatrical entry and click "Create DVD"

So you cannot get to the DVD section. If you do not have any DVDs in your collection, you will see a link to the DVD section but once you add a DVD to your collection that link is gone and there isn't anyway to get to the DVD section to search to add more. Is there a way to add the DVD database to the main search so we don't have to go 5 pages deep for every movie we want to add. Great idea but definitely some usability issues.

Also I added one DVD to my collection and when I click on it, it takes me to the page of a different movie.

After reading this thread I found it, and noticed the problem of being unable to get back to it after adding items. Luckily I had opened multiple tabs, one of which was still on the original DVD page, and I saved the link:

https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/

This will get you back there.

Thanks for working to improve the site. I'd love to add in my DVD's, but the DVD site is a still bit cumbersome and I was unable to find most of the DVDs I searched for in the database like the first 9 seasons of the Simpsons, the Justice League seasons, Snow White and The Lion King. Once the database is more fully populated and I can add DVDs from the search bar I'll try again.

Yeah, a lot of things are missing and the results seem sporatic. For some TV series, a few random releases will show up, but not all fo them. I've started adding a handful of things that I have that do show up, but it's going to be a while before I have most everything in there.

Like the new DVD section!

Can we get a link in the community section under statistics for dvd collection ranking and comparison? Please?

Possibly an update to our member info (< to the left) so it shows our total dvd collection number as well as blu-ray and ps3?

Default Only for "new" release DVDs?

If I search for a DVD & it is out on BD, only the BD shows up. I'm thinking of adding my hundreds of DVDs but don't see a way to find most of them.

I suppose I can search theatrical & create DVD as suggested earlier in this thread but, there must be an easier method.

Found it!

Click DVD on the top menu under the Blu-ray.com blue banner.
Then click "search movies" under "database" on the menu list on the left.

Eureka!
