United Kingdom Terminator - UK Blu ..... When ?

I have read reviews the US (region free) is not great for PQ and I doubt it's an improvement on the DVD S.E when viewed on an upscaling DVD player

Any news on The Termintor being released here and with a transfer worthy of what is a legend of film ?

I have no doubt this has been asked before.... but it hasn't been questioned recently.

From what i've heard Lowry have given it a new transfer, so it's only a matter of time before The Terminator gets a much deserved release here. I hope it's sooner than later though, dying to see it again!

The Blu-ray looks fabulous compared to any DVD.

Why you've not bought I don't know as you can't be a fan of the film or the format. It's also AB so there's no excuse.

I'm having nightmares as to what they intend to do to it to 'fix it'. There's **** all wrong with it the now.

really wanting this. I've been holding off buying 2,3,4 so I can buy a box set or in case they re-cover the others when 1 comes out

It's all about different perspectives I guess as to what is "good" or "bad", but I too will hold out for a release that I feel is worthy of purchasing.

Am a huge fan of The Terminator and a fan of Blu Ray, so you are totally WRONG

I have read the reviews of the US release, none say its amazing, a real showpiece for the BR system.... Not one.

Why would I spend £13 to ship it over? There are no new features even. I have the DVD 2 disc ultimate edition. I have watched The Terminator on many formats - even watched on VHS when released, the days when the local 'Video Addicts' would have 2 or 3 copies of a new release and then you had to book in a copy to rent for one night .

I am happy to spend £15 on a UK release of The Terminator with 5* PQ and AQ hopefully in a steelbook, or with a slip cover that looks like the classic black background (rather than the grey DVD cover) - more than happy.

Why should I import a standard copy of such a legend and a firm fave ???!!!!

Not a fan ? Think I'm more of a fan for wanting to see and own a copy in full on top notch quality and not accept a bog standard issue

Even when they do get round to doing a remaster, it won't have a 5* transfer anyway as it's a very low budget film.

I have the US import and it bests the crappy dvd by a mile. PCM soundtrack is very good too.

Yes fair point, however I have both Dawn and Day of the Dead (arrow releases) and they look awesome with loads of extras. Same for Phenomena

And, Karate Kid...

So I would hope for a PQ of some quality, not the current AB Terminator release which normally gets 3 out of 5 or 6 out of 10 on Customer reviews as well as offical magazine reviews

The BR may be better then the DVD, but I cannot see why UK doesnt have its own release. And, why it shouldn't be better, then the naff standard one people seem to be accepting ?

And I hope none of them ever do, or it's not The Terminator. Simple as that.

The only reason the keep the DVD, is for the mono audio, but you don't seem concerned about that.
PQ wise, my US BD laughs at your DVD and those ass-hat reviewers.

Don't be going around telling people they're wrong, when they own the f***ing thing.

It's just over a tenner delivered here:
http://gam.co/Terminator-Blu-Ray-p228587

Even a tramp could afford that.

.
Oooh sorry sweetheart.

Didn't mean to offend, you sensitive thing you.

I am of course following customer reviews, as well as blogs and threads. But you are right, I don't own the f***ing thing, you big toughie. But that is because I will not pay £10 - £13 for a (sub)standard Blu.

Companies can release decent editions for many movies with less then half the fan base -- And bother to release in the UK.

I'll pick up the edition this movie deserves. When they bother to release one !
