My order of this shipped on Friday, however, notably, the steelbook didn't ship out with game. I contacted futureshop, and they gave me this response:

No SBs @ store on opening. Took first 10 who did not have preorder and put them on a call list for sometime later this week. Said preorders would get one. Not surprised to have a constant stream of gaffes from the SB-centric retailer in Canada.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was unable to obtain the FS Steelbook in stores. But I'm sad that we don't have a Steelbook now.
I had pre-ordered a week ago. Specifically asking if this secured me a steelbook. I was told "yes" (What else?) I show my receipt this morning upon the store opening their doors. They give me the special edition with gold Controller (Which I don't want) I ask about the steelbook, and nobody knows what I''m talking about. One employee does and says that they're probably in the back somewhere (etc) A couple of moments later I'm told they either didn't get them in or can't find them. The took my name and info so if they do find them, they'll give me a call. I picked up the regular edition as it's the one I wanted. Hopefully I can still get my steelbook case. Also, they did this with Skyrim. But It went flawlessly. A box of steelbooks sitting beside the games. If you pre-ordered, they gave you one. |

I was just looking at the FS forums from their website http://community.futureshop.ca/t5/Ni.../bd-p/nintendo
It seems none of the stores received their steelbooks according to fellow customers. Pretty sh**ty move FS. I rarely have a problem with their steelbooks, but it seems like they're trying to pretend the Zelda Steelbook never existed now. It's literally the only reason I per-ordered. I live within walking distance of a FS, EBGames, and Walmart. The only reason I chose FS was for the steelbook. If this steelbook doesn't show up, I will gladly be filing a complaint within the store and to the customer service available through the website. I hate to seem as though I'm whining, and I've never filed a complaint before, but FS flat out lied to us. It's simply false advertising. |

Yeah well FS is better not screw this one up because here in Quebec province, we CANNOT pre-order online and get the steelbook since they won't allow shipping the steelbook since it's english only text. The only way is pre-ordering in store...

I seriously doubt they will follow up on that, most likely they will receive the steelbooks and just throw them on the shelves and let other customers next week have a grab at them. |

I could careless if they tell me that Pre orders get first pick. that won't happen. I'll ***** about the flier, not being able to pre order online, make some other bullshit.
I got that raincheck I better get two nice steelbooks. Plus the fact they have 10 minimum per store so I dunno what the dude is talking about people not getting theirs from the store. |

Well, forum member Steelie was helping me out with this one.
Here's the e-mail he received yesterday: Dear customer: Thank you for pre-ordering Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (Nintendo Wii) Unfortunately, due to an error on our part we were forced to cancel your pre-order. We're sure you're very disappointed by this and for that we sincerely apologize. To make up for this, we are providing you with an eCertificate code that is valid for 1 free copy of the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (Nintendo Wii) game ($49.99 value). You'd think it would be cheaper for them to produce more SteelBooks than to give out free games?? Futureshop seems to really need to get it's act together on these video game Steels, seems like there's always a problem. |

I mean it's so simple to fix this problem. And other things that I don't like are
Stacking the steelbooks or not caring for them No plastic cover on the steelbooks (Gears 3 had one why not the rest?) The UPC code (gears and Batman both had a sticker UPC code) I mean why is it so hard to have them shipped with plastic and a sticker UPC? Anyways I got 1 of these steelbooks for sale if anyone is interested. |
