Default TV/movies that don't hold up over time - and those that do.

I was channel surfing last night and came across the end of Predator. I was never a huge fan of the predator movies - but I remember liking Predator I.

I'm watching Arnold and the Predator take turns hitting each other - trading hits, with the obligatory slow mo hit on the jaw with the face turning, spewing huge amounts of blood from the mouth.

As I continued watching it became apparrent to me - this film is just not as good as I remember.

I thought it was laughable seeing the infared vision - not sure how the Predator could see a damn thing - looked horrible.

Then, *Spoiler* -
[Show spoiler] When the Predator sets the countdown to explode it has this incredibly CHEESY, cackle. Wow! Funny I don't remember it sounding so silly.

I've done the same thing with my kid - I'll put in an old movie and find it just isn't good.

So, what films have you re-watched, perhaps from your childhood, that just don't stand the test of time - and which films do?

Movies that don't hold up over time:
Mortal Kombat - when I came out of this from the theater, I thought it was awesome! I don't think I could sit through this now. It's laughably bad now.

Back to the Future 3 - always the weak chapter in the trilogy, but seriously, the "You chicken?!" thing was beginning to wear out its welcome.

Movies that do hold up over time:
The Goonies
Back to the Future 1 & 2
