Thumbs down Boo! 2 My Local Wal-mart

well just got back 4rom my 1st time visiting wal-mart for blu-rays. .. i thought they didnt have any blu-rays in stock .. until i asked for help and found em all the way @ the bottom of the ps3 lock casing section. i only saw 300, we are marshall, perfect stranger. couldnt believe the display for blu-rays there. i think they only had 1 copy of Fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer thats until i left the store with it.

i enjoyed the HD-DUD section. didnt c 1 on display.

I have found the BD section at my usual Wal-Mart the shytes - very unorganized. It's one section of vertical shelving and everything is stacked in-front of each other.

Stick to Best-Buy.

This has a familiar ring to it. BB and CC is playing the same song in my area. Still need to checkout WM. Targret had nothing new available and a very small selection. So WM put the BDs in a locked case? What? Thats almost funny. Did they think they were games or something? Glad to hear about the non existant HD DVD section you enjoyed so well. Great Post!

99% of Wal-Mart stores only carry the biggest of the big day and date releases for Blu, and have started doing the same for HD-DVD, even in my small Kansas town SUper Center. Wal-Mart stores in top markets have full-on HD-DVD and Blu-Rays sections, though I have only ran into one within driving distance, which is the newer gigantic Super Center in Olathe, KS suburb of KC).

My local walmart has about 4 rows 5 titles high for BR and 2 rows 5 titles high for HD DVD.

They have pretty excellent prices, surprisingly (18-25 dollars + tax on everything from what I saw), around here. Their selection is pretty crappy as they don't get all of the titles, but it's definitely my first stop if I'm pissy and can't wait for amazon (then I hit target and finally BB, as Target is half a block a way and I like them a little more than Best Buy... even though Best Buy has everything -- their prices kinda stink).

Wow I must be lucky. My walmart is overflowing with Blu-Ray's. (There are 8 total rows for high def). Blu-ray has already taken one over from HD DVD, and is overflowing so they made another row behind it. I have a total of 6 rows of BD's and only 3 rows of HD DVD. This is the St.Albert, Alberta supercenter in Canada.

The prices aren't so great though so I just buy at amazon.com.

My local Wal-Mart has about twice as many Blu-rays as compared to the amount of HD-DVD's they have (6 rows to about 3, cause some of the BD's are even on the HD-DVD side). They also have a Blu-ray movie end cap.

The people that work there seem to like BD better, I was talking to one of the guys and he said that pretty soon we'll see a lot more rows of Blu-rays there. I'm not sure if he knows something, but it's good to hear they like the superior format.

They do have the best prices in town, i still enjoy Best Buy the most though.
...speaking of BB, my local BB (Park Meadows Mall, CO), has a whole lot more Blu's than they did last week, almost two whole isles. It makes the HD-DVD side look cr*ppy.

hey fronn, the walmarts in eagan and apple valley suck for high def. go to shakopee. best in that area. I live in owatonna. about 45 minutes from the twin cities. our wal-mart has a super blu-ray selection, thanks to me stocking it. I just put out bram stoker's dracula, underworld, and room with a view yesterday. we have sold out of FF2 blu-ray. very hot title here.

Anyone know which Wal-mart has the best BD selection in the Stockton/Modesto, CA Area? They have some great prices...I'm tired of waiting for my online purchases.

My 2 local Walmart's are absolute crap when it comes to Blu's and the employees are as knowledgeable as the McDonalds employees that work in the store. At times I think I am inside a flea market

Yeah tonight I asked if they had a release schedule for BD's or if they could find out what BD's were coming to their store and the lady handed me a DVD release schedule. I told her that I was only interested in BD and then she told me that all the new movies are coming out for both formats. I was like so Transformers should be coming to you on BD on OCT. 16th and she was like.......YES!.....

Dude you guys all gotta come down to my Mart on the 16th man we are all getting Transformers on BD. I should have made her promise me or something. Why can't they find out what BD's are coming to their store. I call almost every Monday night to see what they have and they always tell me to come in the morning...sometimes I hate those guys!

they usually don't pay the associates very much, give them a break, you get what they pay for.
