I was soooo looking fwd to this based on what I read all year.
Then the trailers came rolling in.
Then the reviews came tumbling in

Why? What went wrong (I won't post the bad ones)

You can't always rely on reviews.

Of course not. But when you have nearly total consensus, it becomes difficult to ignore.

FWIW, I saw this at the theater today. Not a great film by any stretch of the imagination, but I actually ended up rather enjoying it for what it is: a sappy rom-com/boy comes home and makes good pic. Maybe I was just in a certain good mood. Not nearly as bad as the critical drubbing had led me to believe it would be. I've certainly seen worse this year.

50 Shades of Grey was this year; saying "I've seen worse" for the rest of 2015 means nothing haha

Yeah but... Come on. Excuses.
This is the guy that did Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky and Jerry Maguire. If its not that good, then, why support it? Like, would you suggest we members see it?

I love Jerry Maguire. I love Almost Famous. I hate this movie so much.

Literally nothing about it works. The script is terrible and the movie feels incredibly empty.

It was terrible. It felt like a studio stooge went in and did a blind edit to the film. I hope Crowe comes back with a winner after this disaster. At least the soundtrack was decent. But that is it.

How did Crowe screw this up?

Let Cooper, Stone and McAdams loose in Hawaii and the movie is about 85% done right there.

Here's another one:

P.S.: I already had a bad feeling when I watched the trailer for the first time.

Haahaaaa.
Yeah. The wife and I aren't going to see it. We're not gonna get a sitter for this. But, man, I was looking forward to this.

Not anymore.

I know, I know, someone always comes in a message board and says, "But don't take a reviewers word for it. See it for yourself"

Look, I don't have to be in a car accident to know that it's bad. I've heard and read enough.

And, I'm not just taking one reviewers word. I'm taking all of their words, combined with the members words in here who saw it.

Man, they really should have released the blu-ray of Vanilla Sky before this came out in theaters

Why wouldn't "The Descendants II" be good?

Who could have predicted this movie would blow chunks?

Yeah, but Uwe is bad and we all know it. Hell, he knows it.
Crowe isn't known to be bad. It would be like if Led Zeppelin put out a cheesy album

I wonder if the Blu-ray release date will keep getting pushed ahead indefinitely with a promised better recut of the movie?
