As some of you know, I had sent my XPA-3 back to Emotiva for servicing. I had bought a return shipping label through Emotiva, and they use FedEx.
Well, I just got a call from Matt today saying that the XPA-3 came in damaged... but there is more. I had sent the amp in using the original Emotiva double box shipping carton with the original styrofoam casing inside to protect the amp. What Emotiva received was my amp in a significantly larger, thinner box (the double box is missing) and the protection styrofoam TAPED to the amp. No additional packaging was placed to fill the void of the larger box. ![]() ![]() ![]() Needless to say, my amp was damaged ![]() 2 reasons why I am posting. First is to ask if anyone has experience with FedEx's damage claim dept. How long does it take? Any pitfalls or advice anyone can give me? 2nd reason is to hopefully gain some accountability for FedEx's actions. I know I won't have the same exposure as the guy whose LCD screen got thrown over the fence, but I want to put it out there anyway. [Show spoiler] Here you can see the huge box (box on the right of the white styrofoam) FedEx replaced the original Emotiva double box I shipped the amp in originally. They just stuck the amp in the huge box and didn't add any filler.[Show spoiler] Size of the replacement box[Show spoiler] Damage to the amp[Show spoiler] More of the external damage.[Show spoiler]
