Default Marvel Studios Unknown Project - April 4th, 2014

Quote:
Disney Moves Marvel Mystery Movie to April 4th 2014

Walt Disney Pictures has announced that they are moving one of their scheduled 2014 films from June 27th 2014 to April 4th 2014, and has confirmed that Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers will be released in post-converted 3D.

The comic property has still yet to be announced, but the move is very strange as the other 2014 Marvel film is scheduled only weeks later — May 16th 2014 — and it doesn’t look like the mouse house is moving that one. So it looks like we’ll be getting two new Marvel movies within six weeks of each other in April/May 2014. Could this possibly mean that the films are connected? A part one and part two of the same story? I would say that possibility is very unlikely, but you never know.

One of the films is likely the sequel to Captain America. The other film could be the Doctor Strange film, the Edgar Wright directed Ant-Man movie, or maybe even the Runaways. Take a look at Marvel’s complete film release line-up below:
  • May 4th 2012 – Joss Whedon’s The Avengers (3D)
  • May 3rd 2013 – Shane Black’s Iron Man 3
  • November 15th 2013 – Thor 2
  • April 4th 2014 – Untitled Marvel Movie #1
  • May 16th 2014 – Untitled Marvel Movie #2

Does anyone know how much longer Fox has to put the movie in production before the rights return to Marvel?

Per there agreement if they don't put the movie in production during a certain window they lose the rights but I don't know how much longer they have

Captain America 2 is very likely for one of the 2014 projects

The other one I hope is a hero that hasn't been done yet. Doctor Strange, Black Panther so many to choose from

I don't think there is too much time left, actually. That's why the hit the ground running last year to try and reboot it. It seems like it's stalled out though, because we've heard close to nothing about it...I think they're more focused on the DareDevil reboot that Slade is working on. I think F4 will revert back, but DareDevil will probably stay with the company. I'd say Fox doesn't have much time left with either franchise if it doesn't move in front of cameras soon.

Fox (Tom Rothman) said they are currently developing a FF movie less than a month ago.

We know it's being developed, but everything we've heard about it was so long ago...I'm kinda starting to think that they may have hit some road blocks along the way. I'd really like to see Marvel get F4 back because they'd treat it much better than Fox has.

Fox is not going to let it's ownership of Fantastic Four (or any of their Marvel franchises) go. Even if the movie is terrible they'll make sure something is released before their option expires so they can maintain control of it.

Put with Slade's movie, at least we know there's development. We keep hearing updates, writers being attached to it, and Slade commenting on it. We don't have anything like that with F4. We heard rumors of Fox trying to get Bruce Willis in it, but that was it to my knowledge. Rothman can say they're working on it, sure, but that doesn't mean it might not have possibly stalled. Which could easily be the case.

I'd love to believe something is happening with it, but until we get a bigger update and some actual movement, it just feels stalled to me.

There's still the Inhumans project, which they're still persuading us they're serious about making (although that's what we used to say about the Ant-Man movie...)--If Fox was smart, though, they'd hand over the F4 reboot and negotiate a merger.

And their stubborn insistence on a "you all liked the babe" spinoff for Black Widow, a la "Elektra" apologizing for no Daredevil sequel--
Although that seems to have cooled now that BW shows up in the Avengers anyway without one, and the backlash setting in that okay, maybe Iron Man 2 isn't as big a hit today as when it first came out.

I know it's wishful thinking because of the rating it would require but it would be sweet

They have Blade and Punisher back. Maybe it's one of them.

I would assume he's tied to the Spidey franchise so that's where he'd show up if at all.

Before June I might have agreed with that but X-men First Class was better then any movie Marvel has made and there were rumors the same crew were gonna reboot Fantastic Four

The only benefit to Marvel getting the rights would be the possibility of The Fantastic Four being an Avengers sequel which would be pretty cool
