Default HDMI output from the Onkyo 606

Hi all...
First off, I'll apologize if my issue has been discussed previously... I did search - found nothing relevant...

I bought a 606 unit from eBay - and it came in yesterday... Went through all the pain in switching out the old receiver - and then this...

Connected the HDMI out to the TV - turned the unit on - using the power switch on the receiver - and there was no OSD from the receiver. I know that the TV and the HDMI cables work - but, just in case I tested another TV and another HDMI cable... to no avail.

Here's the funny thing - when the HDMI cable is connected to the TV and the receiver is on, I get a message of "No signal". As soon as I turn the receiver off, the message changes to "Check signal cable". Which means that the HDMI is somehow active - and the TV can detect it.

Am I missing something? Has somebody dealt with this issue before?

Any insights?

Rup
