Default Wharfedale - don't sleep on'em

I remember my early years at bluray.com I made it my purpose to introduce people to other speaker companies. At that time Polk ruled the fourms on the entry level, Paradigm and Klipsch the mid, and B&W ruled the high. I remember recommending speakers such as PBS, Energy, Totem Mites as a system amoung others.

Other people begin to sound off with their systems with these speakers and people like Big Daddy, Rded, Callas01, John7___ and many others also sang the praises of other speakers (well Big Daddy always did). Now I see people upgrading to Focals, Dynaudio, Energy is a craz now, and the Totem board is not lonly anymore (thought you would never see it John huh).

Well I believe it's time to bring another company to the entry and maybe even the beginners high-end party - Wharfedale! Wharfedale is not alone, they are owned by IAG which also owns Quad (Sorkman14 and Chris38) and Mission well know and respected English speakers (B&W isn't the only British speaker).

Wharfedale Diamond 10's gained rave reviews at CES, and Sterophile just did an excellent review of them (the reviewer didn't miss his Gibbons that previously occupied the place of the Wharfedales). They have the step up EVO line and the higher-ended Opus2 lines. They also have the no-cost Airdales. This company is no slouch - technologies such as Tri-laminated woofers in their subs, excellent finishes, and excellent sound make this a company to check out.

I own two Wharfedale SW-380's and I like them so much I'm looking and listening to there other speakers more closely and I like what I'm hearing!

Ebay and Amazon has the SW-250 in sliver for $299.00 the ones with wood finishes are $600 on Amazon and they retail for more than $1200eek:!!!! Give Wharfedale a chance - they sound very much like Quad and don't be deceived by the specs on the subs - they have plenty of slam and they are very musical as well (the SW-300's and 380's are actually paired with Quads and the Wharfedale Opusv2 line). This is a fine company ... give them an honest try....Find a dealer near you and you too will say...how did we sleep on this!!!!???
