Canada is region 1. It is probably the exact same release that is going for $100+ on Amazon.com right now.

Apart from the "Love and Marriage" theme song being removed from Season 3 onwards, are the episodes themselves untampered?

I know that some of the episodes in season 4 are the syndicated versions, but all other seasons have the uncut episodes. This flaw was apparent even when they released the individual season 4 years ago. Those few episodes have never been released in their original form.

Incorrect. While it may set you back a little, and you'll need a region free player, the German release of Season 4 does, in fact, contain all the episodes uncut. But it is expensive, so it's only if you can't bear to have the 8 or so syndicated episodes from Season 4 in your collection.

I should have specified, I meant that the uncut episodes have never been released in region 1.

Another question to any one who has this Canadian release... Is it a bilingual case? (Yes, that irritates me to no end.)

You're right....they don't make them like this anymore...they make them way better. Sorry, but TV today is far better than anything pre 1995. Though, I do love so many old shows - and the fact is that shows like this set the bar and opened the door for so many subsequent shows.

Because the music and the episodes aren't fully 'original/uncut' etc...I will never buy these boxsets, but I am happy to have them on Netflix.

To each his own. I'll take pre-1995 shows to most released today. That's why I have so few TV shows on Blu - not many releases appeal to me.

Sony is rereleasing this set (probably different packaging) in the US on September 27th, and it will have a SRP of $65.99. That means it should be around $50 at Amazon.

There has been a price drop on this set about 4 weeks ago. You should find it anywhere between $44.99 and $49.99 before shipping and taxes.

Don't leave out "In Living Color". Especially when "ILC" and "MWC" were back to back on Sunday nights back in the day if I remember correctly... I think "Herman's Head" was in there as well. I remember 4 great shows on the Sunday night line-up between 8 - 10 p.m. on Fox. Cannot remember the 4th one though.

Unfortunately, ILC got butchered on DVD. I remember some cuts during the "Men On..." segments.

Since I already own all the seasons plus the other 3 discs that were available, is there anything special with this set?
