I just got back from watching it at the local AMC. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Nothing groundbreaking and the ending...

(SLIGHT SPOILERS)attempts a Blair Witch type of non-closure to the events that totally does not work, it quite literally ends mid scene (END SPOILERS).

Other than that though, it has some terrifically creepy parts and moves along at a good clip. There's some cringe worthy blasphemous dialog and gross looking contortions from the "possessed". Worth the $5 early bird special showing in my humble opinion. If not for the cop out ending I would have thought it was really good. I'm a sucker for these demonic type movies. Hell, I enjoyed the Exorcist prequel (Renny Harlin version) so I might not be the best guy to take advice from.

It WAS a good movie until the end. Then that just totally killed it. The filmmakers could have easily came up with 10-15 more minutes for the film and gave it a proper ending. It was just pure laziness.

I agree with you. Hell, even an extra minute of movie to somehow end the movie properly would have been better than this nothingness. It's too bad as I really did like the rest of it.

Whats bad is there are people who go to movies like this thinking they are documentaries. Anyone who thinks this is anything other then a low grade cheap horror picture needs to get there head out.

The Last Excorsism had similar problems as whats reported for this movie. It would have been decent if it had just ended 10 minutes earlier but the movies beyond stupid "twist" ending hacked onto the end was just disasterous

This made $2M from midnight screenings, making back it's $1M budget. So I guess it's already considered a success.

I've not personally seen this one yet, but my friend did earlier today. He's a BIG horror film buff like me and he said it's one of the worst films he's ever seen. The crowd at the showing he went to was pretty big and he said there were few real scares, with the audience laughing at the stupidity of some parts of the movie and booing loudly when the film ended.

I saw this movie and it was whatever, not scary at all.

Anyways, I expect that to be the ending so I was angry or anything, it was just kinda dumb. There were some (extremely annoying) teens and they were like "F--- this! What the f---!" at the end of the movie and the movie was already over and they were like "I'm f---ing out of here! This was dumb!"
I didn't think it was terrible, but certainly not that good nor was it scary.

Newsflash people if a movie gets a 6% positive rating and you still pay to go to see it you seriously don't deserve to carry a dime. Nobody should take any critic at his word but when more then 90% say a movie stinks take a hint

Apparently this is heading toward a $25mil weekend. At least it should fall HARD next week though once the bad word of mouth kicks in.

But still, I'm sure we'll get a sequel.

I agree in most circumstances, but critics almost always hate horror movies. I check the horror sites and check here for word of mouth to get an idea if the movie is good or not. Pretty much everything I've read says this is a horrible movie.

Don't count on it. I'm sure there will be a lot of people (myself included) that are curious from all the bad reviews and want to see it for myself.

The thing is, it's not bad as in the "hah that's terrible," it's just kind of underwhelming, boring, and tired. Really, the only thing I can see that sparked such vitriol is the info card at the end, which is disgusting but not a necessary thing to experience.
