Any word on this film?

Im tempted to just get the DVD.

Nothing at least in the U.S, don't know about internationally. Less Than Zero is a very good movie, and I have it on DVD. It could be months, years for a blu-ray release, so if you're able to get the DVD, go for it.

HBO Max has it in HD. Quality is good not great. 4K scan plus the Criterion treatment is in order for this one…

I politely disagree. It’s an interesting relic of its period, but the script and acting (McCarthy and Gertz are horrendous) makes it camp. A piss-poor adaptation of a seminal book that feels like a soundtrack in search of a film (Tommy Mottola, who was head of Sony music for years, is an executive producer on it)

It’s an absolute disaster camp melodrama but it’s a great time capsule, you can’t deny that.
