Underworld will not play on Samsung BD-P1000 & LG Super Blu - Blu-ray Forum

Received my copy of Underworld yesterday and eagerly popped the disc into my Samsung player. Played fine for the 1st 14 seconds (logo etc) then nothing .... Tried the LG .... Nothing.

This disc now joins both POTC discs as unable to play on the Samsung. A previous firmware update has enabled me to play all Spider-man discs which had also been in the unplayable category.

Thanks heaps Sony

Is this the price I pay for investing in 2 first gen players ?

Is there further firware upgrades that will overcome this problem ?

Return your samsumg and buy a ps3 or sony bd player dude

Ya lost me with the "Thanks heaps Sony". I have a gen 1 player by pioneer and a gen 1 player by sony and both play these movies fine. Are you venting and blaming Sony because Samsung isn't supporting you as quickly as you'd like?

i thought samsung was apart of BD consortium.
it should work, or they should have update.

contact them immediately.

I have the same player and under world worked fine in my sam P1000

Samsung said that a FW will be available in the COMING WEEKS... LG said this week or next week, well very soon.

I think Samsung cut the butter shorts and implemented BD-J really poorly in the 1000 and 1200...

Hi there, It took about 6 or 7 goes to get Underworld to play on my Samsung BD-P1000 UK firmware 1.2.

Eventually I watched another film then tried it again and worked fine first time. Very wierd - maybe I need to clean the player
