So I purchased the DMP-BDT210 off Amazon.com for a lot less than I could get it anywhere in Canada, and loved the fact that it comes with a mail-in-rebate for the Avatar 3D blu-ray!
However to my dismay, upon reading the claim card it says it's good for U.S. Residents only. Bummer. ![]() But I thought, what do I have to lose than to politely ask Panasonic's customer service team to make an exception for lil' ol' me... Well, 4 phone calls later and I still haven't been able to talk to somebody about it! First attempt after being on hold for 1 minute, someone picks up the line, I hear chatter in the background, and then the line disconnects. Second attempt the line just disconnects right away after talking to their A.I. chick. Third attempt I talk to the A.I. chick who puts me through to a line that is no longer in service and the call disconnects. Fourth attempt, I actually get to speak to a CSR! She can't help me with my issue so transfers me over to the sales department. There a well-spoken American (ie, no heavy 3rd world accent) answers and I tell him my issue if it's possible to have the blu-ray sent to me. He didn't know an answer, but wanted to transfer to me someone who should be able to help. Tells me to hold on and puts me through.. the line goes to music for about a minute then a recorded message comes on saying the line is no longer in service, and wants me to dial the 1-800 number again, and then disconnects! I can't do anything but laugh... how do you American's deal with Panasonic customer service without banging your heads against walls? Supposed to be a leader in technology but none of them know how to work a phone system! Sheeesh. Too bad I don't know any American's whose address I could use to actually get this disc! Blah. /rant |

I learned my lesson about Panasonic some time ago. I have a very cheap BD player of theirs which I still have in my bedroom, but aside from that, I would never buy another Panasonic product again. They might as well not even have a customer service department, as they do not actually provide any.

Ya, as I'm coming to learn lol... I have yet to test out the player, hope it works, will be hard to send back haha...
At least they responded to me on Twitter quickly, unfortunately it's the standard answers you'd expect. |
