Good news for Bruce Lee fans!
I Am Bruce Lee is an upcoming documentary that examines the legendary actor and martial arts icon, Bruce Lee. Director Pete McCormack has assembled a vast array of individuals, from those who knew Bruce intimately to modern celebrities who have been influenced by him, to discuss the life and times of Bruce Lee. More info and trailer! |

"In the documentary you can expect commentary from actor Mickey Rourke, MMA fighter and actor Cung Le, MMA fighter and Haywire star Gina Carano"
Why, it's not like they knew him. They're going to say the same things everyone else says. "Yea he's the reason why I got into MMA"... really? If you read anything he's written or said, if he was still alive today he would s$@t on MMA and the fact that it's even around. He would of like old school UFC when it had no rules but not what it is now. He said that there should be no rules in fighting. Why do you think he was never in fighting tournaments. He was notorious for eye gouging and ball stomping when he got into street fights in China. This isn't a knock on the movie. I just find it funny how all these actors, MMA fighters or whoever else say that he inspired them to get into what they are doing. When they know nothing about him and probably only seen EtD. EDIT: I just watched the trailer and now I am knocking the movie. What a joke. Last edited by KoukiR; 01-18-2012 at 03:23 AM. |

LOL! I totally agree with you. Obviously, the Bruce Lee estate sees $$$$ signs. =D Can we blame 'em?
All I know is maybe this will push for a Blu-ray release of Bruce's Hong Kong films. Judging by the footage from that trailer, the quality of the film footage is excellent! (even looks better than the HK Blu-rays that have been released)... but I could be wrong. Blu-rays coming soon? Let's hope so. |

Yea I hope his other movies come out on blu, I have his others on DVD but would definitely DD if they came out with a US box set release. EtD was the only US release movie he made thats probably why it's the only blu we get.
I don't think there was anyone in Hollywood or anywhere else that knew Bruce like James Coburn did. To bad he died, he would have made a great addition in this mocumentary. But if I think about it they probably didnt even know he knew Bruce that well and would have never contacted him if he was still alive. |

The only living person I would l give credit to that can speak of Bruce Lee as a person and JKD as a fighting method is Dan Inosanto. Everybody else is just faking it. Well maybe Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
Didn't history channel already make a decent mockumentary? And although Dragon is an entertaining movie, it fabricates too much of what could have been a fascinating true story. Ip Man 2 is much worse. Bruce Lee probably rolled over in his grave for that one, crammed and distorted by the Hollywood mess. |

But yea, on fighting I would agree that Dan Inosanto knew the most since I think he's the only student that's still alive. Jerry Poteet just passed away a few days ago to which is weird that this came up now. But as a person and a close friend James Coburn probably knew him the best. They did everything together and Bruce was his PT. The best doc I have seen on Bruce was done by Showtime or HBO, I forget which one but that was definitely the best one I've seen. |

Was this documentary made before Ted Wong died late in 2010?
