United Kingdom Stalingrad (2013) - Any non Russian Blu's yet?

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Stali...y/91578/#Forum

Here's one of the trailers (there are lots of different ones).

I've been eagerly awaiting this for sometime

There are separate 2D & 3D Russian versions... I just wondered if anyone has either seen it - or has any info on UK or US release dates?

Failing that, I'm considering trying to get hold of the Russian version... anyone have good experiences ordering from anywhere on-line?

Wow from the trailers it seems to look good, I imagine there is a decent amount of LFE to give my sub a good workout.

According to IMDB it will receive a UK theatrical release on 21st February and a US theatrical release on 28th February. So it will be a while before a UK or US blu-ray release...

I hope it has subtitles and isn't dubbed

The BBFC lists the primary language as English. But it would be a ballsy move from Sony seeing as almost every other foreign film released theatrically is subbed in the UK...

The witless wonders over at Sony's London offices are probably in the process of sharting out another one of their anaemic, DVD-Only, UK specials as we type.

They have US rights as well, so it's possible they'll just use the US master. (Although Sony have been locking US releases recently, in what's commonly known as a "dick move". Though that could be because Sony have been recently been releasing titles months earlier in the US than elsewhere).

Sony have always locked their Sony Classics range in the US but that's because those films tend to have varied independent distributors in Europe.

What is odd is the locking of their new mainstream titles eg Captain Phillips in the US is RA locked as it comes out a month before the UK disk which is region free and seems to have identical content. It does seem they have gone back on making US stuff region free as they are worried about European early importers of their titles.

The Russian releases do not appear to be English-friendly from retailer specs.

The Blu-rays appear to have Russian audio and Russian and German (?) subtitles:

2D: http://www.kniga.ru/dvd/993220

3D: http://www.kniga.ru/dvd/993221

Yes - time to brush up on Russian or German... LOL.

I saw the 2D here - http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id...?item=23947392 they have the 3D too. But, so far, Russia isn't somewhere I've purchased on-line from for Blu-Rays.

I'm tempted to try and source one anyway. I often watch movies without subtitles... Hindi movies are often fun like that (and older ones tend not to be subtitled). I also think the first time I saw both Pacte des loups and Vidocq on DVD, they were both French versions without subs.

Kniga.ru is the only shop in Russia that I have found that will ship internationally. The site is pretty simple to use with automatic translation.

That was what I meant.

And there's an easy way of stopping us from importing it, day and date releasing of the film, and then release the blu-ray within a few weeks of each other. But oddly nobody seems have to come up with that most logical of solutions...

The only film I've seen get a dubbed theatrical release was the original Swedish Girl In The Dragon Tattoo, but that was also available subbed as far as I know...

However that was Momentum and NOT Sony. Think there was also a dub of the Norwegian Headhunters.

Years back Luc Besson's Taxi was released as a p/s dub on rental DVD whilst the retail DVD was subtitled letterboxed widescreen.
