I know those that live in big cities have access to repertory theaters so some will be able to see older movies in the theater much more frequently. For many of us in smaller cities or towns we sometimes get to see older films that get special engagements like The Matrix and Apocalypse Now this year (although limited) and/or the Fathom Events screenings of classic films. Some theaters or their chains also run classics nights (such as Flashback Cinema) each week or month so there’s that too.
I live in a city but not a major city so we do not have stand alone repertory theaters around here. The best we get are the Fathom Events and some of the special engagements (though some I have to travel to see). Much of what I was fortunate to catch on the big screen was thanks to Fathom Events. There are also some theaters that will occasionally bring back an older movie each month or a certain time of the year (summer or winter season). Last edited by JMS1223; 09-12-2019 at 02:20 PM. |
