Many people have told me what criterions are all about and I thing that it is time for the collecting to start. I don't really enjoy black and white movies as much as color and I was wondering what are the best criterion color movies out there.

- Army of Shadows
- Che - Solaris - Red Desert - Paris, Texas - The Thin Red Line In all honesty, I think you should also post what kind of film you like. All the films I listed above are amazing pieces of filmmaking but they greatly differ in style. Also, there are some truly amazing B&W films in the CC, you should give some a try ![]() |

Just because someone tells you something is good doesn't make it so... and vice versa. You have to find YOUR favorites on your own. That said, I'm only listing B&W movies. Seven samurai Repulsion Diabolique Sweet Smell Of Success The Seventh Seal The Killing The 400 Blows Okay, and Three Colors Trilogy (which is obviously in color) Last edited by retablo; 01-26-2012 at 09:47 PM. |

From looking at your current collection I recommend NOT blind buying in Criterion movies. Not trying to say I dislike your connection I just feel with your taste in movies you are likely to be put off by the majority of titles Criterion has to offer.

More info can be found here, so just join in and ask about any particular title:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...iscussion.html For BD titles, look here: http://www.criterion.com/library/lis...ray&p=1&pp=all When you find something that is of interest, then post here for more info etc: https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...iscussion.html Criterion doesn't "Make" movies.... so every movie is potentially a future Criterion movie ![]() Although stylistically they use the colors in each installment, the fact that it's called "Three Colors Trilogy" (or the individual colors there-in) has nothing to do with the fact that it is in color..... the Three Colors Trilogy could be in B&W and wouldn't lose the meaning of "The Three Colors" Last edited by Beta Man; 01-26-2012 at 09:50 PM. |
