Nothing has been announced. Who has the rights to this now?

Because sometimes other countries and regions are not listed on here, but are sold.
The DVDs are by Anchor Bay and Starz. (looked it up on amazon.com)

Starz owns Anchor Bay, by the way. I believe they still have the rights.

I know!!!!!
Even if it is an import or Region B!!!!
SOMEWHERE ON THE PLANET WE NEED THIS!!!!!!
I'm actually amazed this isn't on Blu-Ray because of how popular it is in the horror genre. I would easily compare it to Evil Dead.

I thought I saw somewhere that From Beyond was coming to Blu. If that is the case, we can only hope Reanimator is right behind as it is same company, cast, etc.

Yeah, but you have to remember it's still an extremely young format. These things take time, and I'd expect 2010 to be the year where the floodgates really open, as low holiday prices increase blu-ray adoption.

For obvious reasons, I would also appreciate a release of this film

I would buy this in a heartbeat! Also not as good, but Bride Of Re-Animator as well. Not as good as the original, but a solid sequel.

Quoted on Barbara Cramptons Twitter page 12-9-2011

"Just got an Email from Brian Yuzna. With out all the gory details, we should have a blu ray of REANIMATOR in about 6 months!"

Not necessarily. A different studio has the rights over there.

Default RE: German Release

Doesnt mean squat. Look at "They Live". It was released in the UK, recalled, and then re-released in Italy.
