I heard The Pythons on a talk show mention that a new Holy Grail Blu-ray edition was coming.

I wonder what meaningful extras could possibly be created at this point to make this a worthwhile purchase?

I loved this movie when I was younger...when I got this on Blu, I couldn't wait to watch it...now 40 years later...it's not near as funny as it was...

Just stick with the old one. PQ is great, a ton of extras. Don't see how they could upgrade it that much. They are preying on collectors' OCD by re-releasing films that already have great releases, while ignoring tons of great films that aren't on BD.

I love this movie. I suffer from panic disorder and when I am having an attack, my wife will put in one of a few movies, that we decided on, that will help me get through the attack. This and MST3K: The Movie I am sure are two of her most hated movies just based on the sheer amount of times that she has seen them.

Holy Grail hasn't been ruined by internet geeks nor my disorder. This movie still makes laugh.

Agreed. Plenty have tried to ruin it by over-quoting, but it will outlast all of them.

The four or five cuts back to Lancelot running up to the castle from the same place before the slaughter still makes me laugh at the mere mention of it.

Edit: That said, I don't think I need to buy it again.

This is probably my favourite scene in the film and one of the few scenes in the movie that still gets me laughing (I love the film to bits but don't tend to laugh out loud at most films, I'm more of a laughing on the inside kind of guy)

It starts off stupid after about 3 runs of the same footage then gets hilarious as it keeps going then out of nowhere BAM

BERLIN — British distributor Park Circus and Sony Pictures are to release a sing-a-long version of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” in the U.K. to mark the movie’s 40th anniversary. The film will also be released internationally by Park Circus and in the U.S. by Rainbow Releasing.

The sing-a-long version of the 1975 comedy will be screened for the first time on Oct. 14 in more than 500 U.K. theaters for one-night only. The screening will be accompanied by a specially filmed introduction from Monty Python’s Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and John Cleese. Park Circus is encouraging audiences to come along dressed up as their favorite character. There will be an interactive social media campaign in the lead up to the release.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release “Monty Python And The Holy Grail: 40th Anniversary Edition” on Blu-ray in the fall.
