Have not seen this movie since it's VHS release, I do remember it being a very interesting, original, scary story. Not into horror much any more but this one might be worth a trip down memory Lane.

Good question about any difference between the Anchor Bay and Umbrella Releases. I guess you could contact Umbrella and ask them where they got their source material from, if they just used the Anchor Bay files, or elsewhere.

For the UK release, I own it, and I'm quite happy with the transfer, and its also the uncut version.

I have both, I really should get off my ass and compare the two.

User review from member 'Cheese':

"For Aussies thinking this is the Anchor Bay release it is not, don't be mistaken by the cover. This has been re-issued from the US Image release. If your looking for the aussie Umbrella/Anchor bay release (I think they had one?) from my understanding compare Audio format, the Anchor Bay Blu Ray should be True HD & Image is Master DTS. Now getting that out of the way...

The PQ isn't horrible, at times it can be quite pleasant, but it does have the orange tint in some scenes, and yellow when Pinhead starts pissing his thunder. When Pinhead gets off the dunny and starts killing people, you get the feel, is this a HD transfer or are the Cenobites showing you a live feed direct from Cenobite central? Cause the HD transfer is sHaRp! with orange tint... It sure looks like nostalgia fest to me."
