Disney Chicken Little 3D Blu-ray (2005) [Region Free]

Saw this on sale at BB, but passed on it for now. Does anyone own this who has an HX 750,850 or 950?

Want to know how bad the crosstalk is on the 2012 Sony's as the review said it is one of the worst offenders to date depending on the display.

If someone can confirm that the level of crosstalk is not all that bad on the 2012 Sony's, then I may pick it up.

In general, If your display can handle a 3D powerhouse like Avatar, Hugo, Flying Swords of Dragon Gate or Journey to the Center of the Earth without any ghosting/crosstalk, it'll handle Chicken Little also. I don't have the same display to be clear, so not sure how most of your 3D movies display to be fair.

3D review:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Chick.../19473/#Review

Quote:

Ghosting is mostly a limitation of the display setting and/or glasses technology rather than the movie itself. (glasses not being able to completely block out all light when that side is "off".)

Back in the early days of 3DTV, many 3D reviewers thought it was the movie's fault and would stress any crosstalk as a big negative. The movie can reduce the ghosting effect by converging the two images closer together, and avoiding high contrast 3D shots, like bright 3D stars against the darkness of outerspace at the expense of stronger 3D, but in the near future, hopefully 3DTVs should be able to completely shut out all light in the closed eye by advancing the crystal lens technology or going glasses free.

Strong 3D tends to have more ghosting depending on the display and viewing angles it's watched from.
Weaker 3D, being closer to 2D, has nearly zero ghosting shots, because the distance between the cameras/separation of the dual images is barely there (almost a single image in weak 3D when you look at the screen without 3D glasses, versus a double image in strong 3D).
Sorry for all the jargon.

Only Hugo displayed noticeable crosstalk so far on the HX950, and it wasn't even that bad IMHO. Otherwise, the HX950 displays very little crosstalk overall.

I'll check it out. Definitely encouraging as I know the review is quite old.... just hadn't seen anyone talk about how this movie looked on the newer sets.

I have a projector but didn't notice any crosstalk, the 3D in it is really great!

If anyone is looking for this title, it's out of print everywhere except Brazil from what I know, but luckily CDPoint sells it very cheaply with amazing service and ship internationally.

How’s the 3D? And the film?

I actually haven't gotten around to watching it yet. According to a poster above, the 3D is very good, and reviews for the film itself are average. A used US copy goes for $35, or a new one goes for $70, but it's $20.50 brand new with the cheapest shipping from CDPoint BR. If you're curious I'd say it's worth picking up; they used to have Meet The Robinsons 3D for a similar price but it appears to be potentially out of print in Brazil now too.

3D is pretty good for Disney

I really liked the movie -- far more than most apparently though the reviewer here on 2D Review seems more like me. Since you really like the Sammy's, I suspect you'd like this one as well. But I liked Gnome Alone so what do I know

I never understood how some people group this with the Home of the Range level

If anyone is looking for this, I would recommend importing the Brazilian version from CDpoint. It’s $15, I can’t remember what the shipping is but I doubt it’s any more than $10, so it’s far cheaper than most other options you’ll see.

I don't seem to be able to add this to the cart. Possibly sold out?

I think it was in stock when I first linked it but I could be wrong. At this point anyone interested in this should probably just bite the bullet on eBay. I see one on there new including shipping for $33, and then used copies for $40ish. This item is out of print and was only sold in limited territories anyway, so I’m sure $30-40 will sound like a bargain within a year.

Yesasia also apparently has the Hong Kong edition in stock for $33 (not sure on shipping). Also the Japanese for $40

Rewatched this last night. What a great animated film! Great characters that deliver some really funny lines. The 3D was also good with a few good pop outs! Every 3D collector should have this in their collection. BTW The sky is falling!

This one seems to be pretty rare nowadays. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to buy this?
