France The Night of the Hunter (La Nuit du Chasseur) | October 31st 2012

Coming from Wild Side Video in a lavish packaging/set: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-N...Blu-ray/36410/

Hopefully other European countries (hello, UK ) will follow ...

True. Wonder if the CD could be the soundtrack. That would be something. Either way this is pricey indeed.

(Secretly I'm still hoping for a decent MoC release for this gem of a film ...)

And knowing Wild Side, forced French subtitles.

The audio CD is the soundtrack + the movie narrated to children by Laughton.

For the pricy sum of €79.99 you get a numbered limited edition:
- A new restored HD version done by UCLA and the Martin Scorsese foundation in Blu ray and DVD.
3 and a half hours of extra material including:
-Charles Laughton at work. 159 minute documentary about working on the movie including out takes.
-Interviews with the main cast done at the time for promotional use.
-an analysis about the influence of the writer Davis Grubb over the work of Charles Laughton.
-Audio cd with the soundtrack and a narration of the movie for children by Charles Laughton.
- 200 page book about the movie by Philippe Garnier.

All in all it's 4 discs and a book. One blu ray movie with extras, 2 DVD's with the same stuff and an audio CD.

could do without the DVD's and a lower price tag. So I hope there will be also a non limited edition soon. It's such a classic that I'm sure more editions will eventually come out.
