Madonna shattered my AV shelf!

So last night I'm watching the Super Bowl half-time show. I cranked up the home theater a little bit but not too loud. Near the end of Madonna's set, I hear a loud POP and I see something fly across the floor towards my feet. I get up and turn on the lights to find this!





I've definitely played my system louder in the past and the bass didn't seem excessive or anything. Anyone want to venture a guess as to the cause because I have no idea.

I e-mailed the manufacturer (Bell'O) and sent them a couple of pictures but I haven't heard back from them yet.
