Default TDKR Movie Theater Standee

I liked the movie so much that I asked my movie theater to give this to me. To my surprise, they said yes!

I think the fact your a girl helped

I'm actually gonna ask my local cinema about stuff like this from now on as well. Worst they can say is no but i don't see why they wouldn't consider it since they usually dispose of it so i guess them giving it to me wouldn't be so bad

Exactly, this stuff mostly goes in the trash anyway.

Ask David Cameron if you can borrow some rooms in Chequers.

Nah, i just gotta win the damn lottery with a decent jackpot and buy a custom built house with a massive foyer leading into a HT room . I don't mind storing them away in a room somwhere till i can one day use them tbh. A shame for sure, but better than not having them

I'll see what movie memorabillia i can get off them lol. I'll get as much as possible but i don't think there's many of those big cut outs i would really get. TDKR character posters (3 of em) are the only ones i seen i would love to have. The rest, if i spot something, i'd ask for sure. Movie posters are the main target of opportunity though

I don't ask for posters because the ones that are outside of the theater become discolored from the sun, and the employees usually don't handle them with care (lots of creases).

My standee has three sides -- Batman, Bane, and Catwoman. It's huuuuuge.

Ahh, neat. You did grab all three lol. I meant more the internal posters tbh than one's outside. They do tend to have some great posters up time to time through the foyer etc so i guess it's worth asking

Can you please measure it for me? My movie theater has it and I want to see if there is some area I can store it in my house (small house lol)

As far as movie theater things go, my movie theater typically gives me whatever I want. I've grown to know the manager so whenever she gets posters in or duplicates, she'll give me them.

I have the following posters from a friend who used to work at a theater:

Big Fat Liar (Double-Sided)
Changing Lanes (Double-Sided)
Domestic Disturbance (Double-Sided)
Dragonfly (Double-Sided)
E.T. Anniversary Poster (Double-Sided)
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius Movie (Double-Sided) [Two Variations]
Orange County (Double-Sided)
Unfaithful (Double-Sided)

I recently got the following from my movie theaters:

Bourne Legacy (Double-Sided / Oversized)
Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D (Double-Sided / Popcorn) [Two Copies]
Magic Mike (12-Foot Banner)
Rock Of Ages (18-Foot Banner With Character Posters)
Savages (Double-Sided / Oversized)
Savages (12-Foot Movie Theater Banner)
That's My Boy (Double-Sided / Oversized)
Total Recall (2012) [Double-Sided / Oversized]
Watch (Double-Sided) [Two Copies]

I ordered a few movie posters from movieposter.com (great site):

Matrix (Movie Theater Poster / "A" / Single-Side / Reprint)
Rock Of Ages (Double-Sided)
Ted (Double-Sided / "B")
Walking Dead (Comic Book Poster)

I also have a giant, oversized single-sided poster of "The Matrix" that I got at a fair in New York.

Lastly, I ordered a pair of the Katy Perry: Part Of Me (Limited Edition 3D Glasses) since no theater near me had any.

There are three sides (Batman, Catwoman, Bane).

Each side is 3 feet, 5 inches wide and 7 feet tall.

You should ask your theater soon because I live near two Cinemarks, and they both told me that lobby displays are usually removed on the Thursday after a movie opens to make way for other stuff.

I now have two of these!

Good to know. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

I know for a fact they had the "Rock Of Ages" pretend to be a rockstar display for like 2-3 weeks and they had a Ted display for a good month or so above the theater doors lol

A lot of it is requested back by the studios. I know it's pretty impossible to get anything Lucasfilm related from cinemas (or it was a few years back). My local cinema auctions promotional items for various charities and Lucasfilm wouldn't even let them do that.

Although, I have managed to get a couple of pieces over the years.

I got this while I was working at Blockbuster in 1999/2000. I opened the box after the delivery, saw what it was and hid it so I could take it home after my shift. My boss was pissed that it was missing but I just denied I ever saw it.

I got this while I was working at Virgin Megastore in '04. My boss just let me have it after I asked. I remember it being pretty huge and judging by the picture it's a good five and a half foot tall.

I've worked as a manager of a multiplex and currently work as a manager of a smaller cinema and, unfortunately, you'll often find it difficult to get hold of POS displays thanks to the rise of eBay. We have to say no more often than we can say yes, the exceptions mostly being to schools and colleges. The distributors don't like people profiteering off the films by selling them on, which is why you'll find a lot of 'Property of Fox, not for resale' and similar on a lot of posters nowadays. Some do insist on them back but that mostly only happens on smaller films that don't have the budget to do a huge run of marketing. And then of course the staff take a lot - well, we deserve some perks.

Boomstick, as I remember with Episode III we were actually instructed to destroy the POS once we were done. Not throw it away, not send it back but destroy them. We got a letter direct from 20th Century Fox with the poster delivery. It's the only time in my 11 years of working in cinemas that I've seen such a request. They really were against people profiteering from the film.

Of course, amongst my many cinema quad posters lie a complete* set of Star Wars prequel posters, including both Episode III versions... The teaser quad is a work of art

*well, almost complete - I don't have the Episode I teaser. I've been tempted to pick it up over the years to complete the collection but I'm happy having all three main posters.
