They are made not necessarily to make a great film (though Star Wars TESB, Godfather 2 and others break the mold) but to piggy back on a successful venture. Believe it or not, there are a ton of Franchises out there and before Star Wars, I can't think of one. (Was Rocky first?) A franchise includes so much more than the pissing match that seems to be the box office numbers. It does include DVD, Blu, merch, collectibles, on demand and so on. So I ask you this. What is your favorite "Franchise". Not the most successful, or top grossing, but as a whole kit, what group of films do you like the most. Crap there is so many so forgive me if I left out yours. I am trying to stay with the top of the top.
