Default Incendies Combo from Sony September 13

Incendies Blu-ray

Incendies Blu-ray Review

From the Digitalbits (July 19):

Quote:
Sony has also announced Incendies for Blu-ray/DVD Combo and DVD release on 9/13 (SRP $45.99 for the Blu-ray).
I love the 45 dollar msrp that seems to be the new norm...not up on Amazon yet. Incendies was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film of the Year for this past year's Academy Awards.

Quote:
A mother's last wishes send twins Jeanne and Simon on a journey to Middle East in search of their tangled roots. Adapted from Wajdi Mouawad's acclaimed play, Incendies tells the powerful and moving tale of two young adults' voyage to the core of deep-rooted hatred, never-ending wars and enduring love.

According to the news item on the front page:

Quote:
While Sony has not confirmed all of the technical and supplemental materials for this Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, the studio has released a preliminary list of special features. They include:

Commentary with director Denis Villeneuve
Remembering the Ashes: Incendies Through Their Eyes featurette
I don't know where the db info came from as the studio sites has no info and AFAIK, no pre-orders are up.

Got my copy. The DVD is quite unnecessary (no bonus materials on that disc).

Just dropped down in price to $19.99 along with some other Sony Classic Blu-Rays. Fantastic price for an absolutely mesmerizing film.

Anyone got the chance to compare this release with the Canadian release by Chrystal films? Chrystal once again messed the black levels big time on the Canadian release. I wonder if the Sony release is any better?

Powerful film... disturbing, unforgettable images but extremely well done with understated acting and very realistic direction. Fantastic.

Can anyone comment as to whether Remembering the Ashes: Incendies Through Their Eyes has English subtitles on the Canadian or Korean releases

I have this version and there are no subtitles on the documentary (there seems to be burned-in French subtitles throughout): https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Incendies-Blu-ray/21227/
