Yep, saw it at Sanity also. Big bummer is though: the ratings logo is printed on.

If by remastered you mean the disc with the corrected audio, then yes. The audio issue was identified and resolved before the film even got a release in Australia so in this case the first release is the only release.

It was $38.98 at my store tonight. My local store has some really bad pricing differences to the online store and they are almost always more expensive and/or have a more limited range of titles in stock. It can be pretty frustrating. Like I mentioned in the Last Blu-ray You Bought thread, I ended up picking up 6 titles in the sale tonight. I went in with a list of 24 though. The other 18 they either didn't have or their prices were inflated over the prices on the web site. The worst was the two titles I intended to get for my wife. She wanted Valentine's Day and Mama Mia - online they're in the 2 for $30, in store they were $34.98 and $24.98 and weren't in the deal! An absolute joke that it can be twice the price in store.

Price differences go both ways - often new releases are $10 cheaper instore than online. For those which are cheaper online, fortunately they've got free shipping at the moment.

True, but that's new releases and they're a dime and dozen as most retailers will have them so you can pick and choose. In terms of catalogue titles my local store is pretty average. As for buying online due to the free shipping, well yes that does help out but the 20% off sale held tonight didn't apply to online purchases so that means in store would potentially be the best place to get them assuming they had them in stock and at the same price. Magically they didn't.

Prices can be negotiated on any blu-ray at jb fi hi which has a white pricing sticker but they do not negotiated on movies which have yellow pricing stickers because they are already on special. I always ask the dvd manager for a discount when the pricing sticker is white, sometimes the discount is only a few dollars but other times it can be as much as $10-$15 off a $30-$40 movie especially if you're a regular customer.

If you are talking about Jbhi fi then i had a similar problem regarding blu rays marked at different prices to the 2 for $30.. so i asked the girl at the counter & she told me that i was correct & got pretty much all the blu rays i wanted (except for saving private ryan & kill bill volume 1...)

I asked as both Face/Off and Dead Silence which I bought were included in the 2 for $30 and 2 for $20 respectively but not marked as such. The staff member confirmed they were OK but that Valentines Day and Mama Mia were the actual prices.

It was from online also but it's running out of stock in stores. Only one of my local stores has one left, all the rest are the standard 2-disc Amaray cases so ordering online may be risky now. It was never advertised that it was a Steelcase release. It just showed up as one and that's why it wouldn't say so online. For the record Sanity also received the Steelcase version. I'm not sure about other retailers. The Godfather films on the other hand still seem to be available at least judging on the availability in my local stores (they both have at least 2 copies of each).

Ordering online now may be a bit of a risk. Could be worth shooting them an email though - they may be able to confirm whether they have them in stock or not.

If their online store doesn't have any left just contact your local jb store either by phone or drop in there, and ask them to search their database for which stores still have the tin case of saving private ryan then just get them to transfer it from where ever has it to your local store. They have done it for me before, actually the last time they did it for me was only few months ago when I managed to pick up the last 2 copies of the casino royale 2 disc collectors edition blu-ray's within the whole company, they transferred them from interstate.

zwostler is in Austria though so his "closest" JB is about 15,000 kilometres.

It's a nice case, but it ain't that nice!

Question

Anyone can confirm these specs of the 2 versions? The subtitles are important to decide.
