Anyone know when El Cid, Fall of the Roman Empire, and 55 days in Peking come to Blue Ray?

Thumbs up El Cid being released in France on Blu

Noticed El Cid being released in France on Blu-Ray. Are there any plans for a region 1 USA release on Blu-Ray as well?

Highly unlikely. Weinstein released remastered releases of both El Cid & Fall of the Roman Empire in 2008 on their premium DVD line "The Miriam Collection". If they were going to release them on blu-ray they most likely would have done it then. I have the German versions.

El Cid

The Fall of the Roman Empire
Those links go to the original German releases which are priced at 20.99 euro and never did decrease in price. I did spring for that release El Cid, it's OK but far from demo material. In November 2010 Koch Media released new versions which they're calling "New Digital Remastered" and much more reasonably priced around 12 euro. They don't seem to be in the blu-ray.com database.

Remastered El Cid - 10.99 euro
Remastered Fall of the Roman Empire - 12.16 euro

I recently got a copy of the new Fall of the Roman Empire, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

USA Fall of the Roman Empire

I've read over at some of the customer reviews at Amazon.com that the Miriam Collection version of "Fall of the Roman Empire" is the "best" domestic digital representation that this film will get. So there really is no chance that this Bronston epic will recieve a U.S. Bluray treatment !?!
Too bad.... when I watched the DVD version from Netflix, it looked pretty good! So, I guess the "elements" are intact, then why not go BLU ??

Might there be a chance for a Region Free bluray edition ?

Is it a fordrawn conclusion that the best edition of this film is and probably will be the Miriam DVD?
